Our Story

We’ve always known each other—or so it seems. With a four-year age difference and a shared circle of friends (many of my friends had older brothers who were friends with him), our paths crossed often while growing up. We were around each other for years and had no clue what was to come about!

After I moved back home from college, he was also back in town studying for the Bar Exam. Thanks to our mutual friends, we began seeing each other more frequently and soon went on a few dates. They were wonderful—but life had other plans, and we both became busy for a brief period. Then, at a mutual friend’s wedding, we reconnected. This time, there was no missing it. From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable—and the rest is happily history.

We have to share our proposal day because it was truly so special. A little backstory first—he and I “officially” started dating after attending the Carolina Opry Christmas Show together with my granddad. It was a cherished tradition my beloved grandparents, Mimi and Toby, attended for more than 30 years, and it quickly became our tradition as well.

Now, back to proposal day. We were at the beach for the Carolina Opry Christmas Show, and my family was able to join us this past year. We were all staying together at his family’s beach house, so nothing felt out of the ordinary. While getting ready that day, my daily Bible verse popped up on my phone:

Luke 1:45 “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill what He has spoken to her.”

It resonated with me so deeply that I even shared it with friends—never realizing that God was gently winking at me in that very moment.

After the show, on our way back to the house, he made an excuse to get me on the beach. That’s where he completely surprised me by proposing—with my Mimi’s ring. I had absolutely no idea it was coming.

When we returned to the house, our friends and family were there waiting to celebrate. The entire day was thoughtful, meaningful, and overflowing with love. I will truly never get over it—it was everything I could have hoped for and more. We are beyond grateful, truly blessed beyond measure, and all glory belongs to the Lord.
